This amazing piece features stunning fine detail, Paua and Pearl shell inlays and includes a description of the meaning of the carving.
A traditional style carved Maori style Wheku created with a modern twist and techniques. It is created using many individual layers of wood veneer which is laser cut and engraved then hand assembled by the artist giving a fully rounded 3D layered form.
It is supplied in a very nice box with cut foam padding for easy presentation and shipping.

A wheku sculpture is placed at the roof gable of a meeting house. It is a carved face or mask that represents an important tipuna (ancestor).
