Kauri Amber Heart by Conrad Henderson

SKU

A stunning Heart pendant hand carved in translucent New Zealand fossil Kauri gum or amber by Conrad Henderson.

Kauri gum or amber is the fossilised sap of the giant native Kauri tree.
The sap would drip onto the ground or leach from fallen trees (sometimes capturing ancient insects) and would harden and fossilise over hundreds or thousands of year in the ground.
The term "amber" is reserved for the oldest and hardest examples of this material.
Kauri amber is very lightweight so it's easy to wear even big pieces..
It is however not as hard as jade or bone so is not suitable to wear when playing contact sports or swimming etc.

Includes an adjustable plaited waxed braid cord, a soft printed presentation pouch and a detailed description of the meaning of the carving.

Size:
50mm Long (1.84 Inches)
Includes Free Shipping Worldwide.

This is a one of a kind piece by virtue of the amazing Kauri Amber from which it was carved so it will be permanently removed from our gallery when sold.

Note:
While fossil Kauri gun or amber is hard it is also brittle like glass so if dropped onto a road etc it will chip so it is not suitable to be worn in water or when playing contact sports.
