A beautiful silver hand-crafted Huia bird pendant by talented artist Madelyne Gourdin, with an inset piece of jade. 

Complete with an adjustable plaited waxed braid cord. It also includes a traditional style woven presentation pouch and a description of the bird, now extinct.

The piece shown here is one of a series but each is unique, due to variations in the stone. All pieces displayed are the same size and bound the same way. 

The huia was a bird native to New Zealand (Aotearoa), that became extinct in the late 19th century. The male bird, featured here, had a shorter beak than the female bird.
