An exquisite silver hand-crafted Piwakawaka bird pendant by Madelyne Gourdin, with an inset piece of jade. 

Complete with an adjustable plaited waxed braid cord. It also includes a traditional style woven presentation pouch and a description of the bird, now extinct.

The Piwakawaka is a bird native to New Zealand (Aotearoa), and charms everyone by flitting around looking for insects disturbed by people.  It is one of the best known and loved birds In Aotearoa/ New Zealand.
