A large handcrafted New Zealand pounamu Sculpture, a Carved contemporary Wahaika, made from pounamu or greenstone.

Comes with a presentation stand made from pounamu with a rough raw edge. As well as a cord for it to be hung for display.

Māori were honourable fighters in the close confines of New Zealand's dense bush, small hand weapons were the most practical to use.
They were most often carved in stone or jade and were used like a knife with a stabbing movement so needed a strong wrist tether to keep them in the hand while fighting.
