Large Kokopu Jade Rei-Niho by Nick Balme


A large Rei Niho style pendant carved in Kokopu Jade or Pounamu by Nick Balme.   
The toggle is carved from Marsden jade.
It includes a heavy plaited waxed braid cord, a traditional woven presentation case and a detailed description of the meaning of the carving.

The Rei Niho is the name given to a piece carved Pounamu and resembling the whale tooth in form.
