A stunning Matau pendant, hand carved in rare New Zealand Ruby Rock Pounamu by Yuki Tanaka. 

Ruby rock and Goodletite are common names for this local rock, consisting of ruby, sapphire and tourmaline crystals in emerald green fuchsite, with margarite, and chromite.
Ruby rock is not jade but it is part of the Pounamu group of hard stones.

Includes an adjustable plaited waxed braid cord, a traditional woven presentation case and a detailed description of the meaning of the carvings.

This is a one of a kind piece by virtue of the amazing stone from which it was carved so it will be permanently removed from our gallery when sold.
