A large one of a kind handcrafted Huia feather pendant with Koru engravings carved in New Zealand jade by Kerry Thompson.    

This is a contemporary take on a very special and sacred traditional artifact.
Complete with an adjustable waxed braid cord, it also includes a contemporary wooden wakahuia box and a detailed description of the meaning of the carving.

The Huia is a sacred but now extinct song bird of New Zealand.  
The feathers of the Huia were sacred objects so were kept in special wooden boxes called Wakahuia.  Waka meaning a sacred vessel and Hui to indicate the very special contents.
